Care and Love from a Distance

As we continue to “stay home” in Indiana, we know many of you are also under a stay home – stay safe measure.  As these days go by, we have increased concern for those seniors living alone at home and those seniors living in a community that need to stay in their rooms.

The partners of Live On Goods worry about seniors especially (including our parents, currently living in various situations) during this pandemic.  We know it is important for people’s mental health to stay connected and active in mind, body and spirit.

During these tough days when we cannot go visit our parents or loved ones to give them a hug, share a meal, or go for walk, we thought of some things to do to share care and love from a distance. We hope that you find an idea or two that  will bring joy and hope.

-       Drop off a basket full of fresh fruit, chocolate 😊, beautiful spring napkins,  and a simple meal to make or a pre-prepared meal

-       Send a flowering house plant

-       Send a “thinking of you” card with photos of fun memories

-       Mail a dvd of fun past shared family holidays and celebrations or of a musical or movie they enjoy

-       Send a craft, puzzle or art project item – good to learn something new or relearn something from years ago

-       Call every few days – so great to talk to connect

-       Send a spiritual book or an inspirational book – maybe read it together and discuss over the phone (one chapter at a time).  Everybody Always by Bob Goff is an uplifting book

-       Put a bird feeder on a window and drop off a bird watching book

We would love to hear how you are sharing care and  love from a distance – please share on our facebook page or email to info@liveongoods.com

 With care,

Gretchen, Maria, Laura and Helen
